Thoughts on Business
(Roundup Web Consulting) has always placed importance on being able to deliver what you want to deliver, without putting sales first.
We are in the business with the hope of changing this reality from the bottom up.
Fortunately, in the 20 years since our founding, with the development of technology and the penetration of the Internet into society, the age in which anyone can master the Web has come down to within reach. We will continue to push forward, never forgetting the spirit of our founding days.
Business History
Year 2000
- When Representative Nakayama touched a PC (Windows NT 4.0) for the first time, he was culture-shocked to see such a thing in the world, and in between his studies, he went to the Computer Center and strongly felt the potential of the Internet.
- Started working part-time as a DTP designer at his father’s design office, where he was taught the basics of DTP design and how to use the software on a G3 Polytank Mac.
- In his spare time, he taught himself web design, web programming (in the heyday of Perl), and design psychology.
2001
- Applied for part-time jobs at a web design company, but failed to get any due to difficulty balancing schoolwork and lack of experience working in an organization.
- As the concept of SOHO was beginning to take off, he began taking on web design work on SOHO recruiting websites, handling projects in a variety of industries, focusing on design and coding.
2002
- Started “blogging,” which started becoming a hot topic at the time, and through customizing MovableType and WordPress, etc., felt that he could manage to some extent even without knowing HTML, etc. when creating a website. Repeatedly practiced SEO and advertising in the course of blogging.
2003
- Suffering from heart disease, he underwent open chest surgery at Keio University Hospital using the port access method (performed by Professor Yotsu).
Feeling that he didn’t have that long ahead of him, he decided to do what he loved and became a freelancer (Office BeginToGone), taking on the name of a sole proprietorship instead of looking for a job.
2004
- B.A. in History (English Medieval History), Faculty of Letters, Gakushuin University
- Work was slow to take off, and he was forced to travel around the country making presentations and mock-ups in order to work with a private sales company to take on half the work. It was during this time that he learned firsthand about both outbound and inbound sales. He realized that sales was more fun than he had expected.
- Started a web marketing blog as a place to note the results of my studies, focusing on foreign SEO topics that were rare at the time, which gave me connections that lead me to where I am today
2005
- For the purpose of study, he worked as a freelancer and also worked as a dispatched or part-time worker at a Web-related company. Since he had never belonged to an organization before, he realized the difficulty of organizations and his lack of ability in this area.
- Then, finally joined one company as a full-time employee
2007
- Designed and launched a website creation system inspired by a free blog system that can be updated by amateurs.
- Thereafter, he was involved in everything but accounting and general affairs, eventually becoming the Web Marketing and Consulting Department Leader.
- Achieve a record monthly number of orders and deliveries in their respective departments.
2012
- Left the company to launch Roundup Consulting, a consulting service specializing in small and medium-sized businesses (SMB). The organization continues to be handled by one person, Nakayama only.
- All sales are inbound, and the motto is to develop 4-step marketing on the Web by creating a mechanism for attracting customers and getting contracts through the mechanism.
2012
- Formed a business alliance with Self-Design Holdings Inc. (now faber Company Inc.) as a video instructor. (now faber Company, Inc.). He gained a deeper understanding of SEO and the possibilities and workflow of information dissemination through video distribution. This was the starting point for the current webinars and podcasts.
2013
- Began holding regular web marketing study sessions with chatwork, Inc. in cooperation with KDDI Corporation
- Speaker at seminars and other events to support Tohoku earthquake recovery efforts
- Became a Web Analyst Master, WACA General Incorporated Association of Web Analysts (*currently withdrawn)
- Started an official podcast, which has been distributed about 350 times to date.
2014
- Incorporated as Roundup Inc. and assumed the position of President and Representative Director, continuing the business with a two-person team. Headquarters was initially at his home, but later established an office in front of Shiki Station, Shiki City, Saitama Prefecture (now relocated to Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture).
- Increased writing for external audiences, such as speaking at corporate keynote speeches, internal seminars, tie-up seminars, etc., and contributing articles to real magazines such as WebDesigning magazine and various web media.

2016
- Consulting Service receives “Management Innovation Certification” from Saitama Prefecture. Limited speaking engagements to local and socially oriented due to business overload. Expanding the business by increasing the number of trusted partners instead of organizing.

2019
- Focus on business except for locally focused lectures and speaking engagements, such as at TOTO’s Omiya Showroom.
- At the end of the year, the Corona Disaster began, shifting its lectures and service format completely online (it had been 70% online before), focusing on small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) in difficult circumstances, and providing services without regard to profit.
2020-2022

- Continue to provide services to those who are interested in our content without making a show of it.
