Greetings from the Representative

Greetings from the RepresentativeYohei Nakayama

Representative Director of Roundup Inc.
Representative of Roundup Web Consulting
Web Consultant

“First Steps in Using the Web and Partners in Sustainable Development.”

Hello, I am Yohei Nakayama, a web consultant.

We provide web consulting, website production, and other production and implementation services on behalf of clients who are concerned about their next move, want to utilize the web but do not know where to start, or are not comfortable with the web and are reluctant to start.

Based on the practical experience of more than 600 small and medium-sized businesses, we are working every day to make our clients web-enabled companies.

If you and your company want to be able to utilize the Web and your website to achieve your various goals and dreams, we can surely provide a shortcut to that goal.

Our goal is to be “a partner for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) in their first steps toward using the Web and in their sustainable development.

Our approach differs from that of general web consultants, production companies, and advertising agencies.

It’s not just about making sales in the short term.

  • Creating a website that will be an asset to support the company in the mid- to long-term
  • Recognition of your company’s true strengths as you become aware of them during the creation process
  • Operation of understanding the dangers of competition and other companies’ entry into the market, customers’ thought process, and decision criteria.
  • Content creation concepts and writing techniques for marketing and sales
  • Extensive SEO and advertising know-how, including expertise in direct overseas imports
  • Using the Web to create a winning internal culture and structure

etc.

We want small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to take advantage of the Web.”

As you can see in my biography, I am what is called an “independent” web consultant. And I do my daily work with the desire to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMB).

We are not affiliated with any association, nor are we dependent on any other source for our business flow. We are able to attract customers through our own marketing activities and referrals from alumni.

Normally, it would be easier for a small company to join some business stream to obtain referral sources or join an association or group to borrow its contacts and power, but we avoided this.

Because I felt that the web industry itself was not oriented toward small and medium-sized businesses (SMB).

Why we are adhering to an independent system

Large associations, organizations, media, celebrities and well-known companies require projects with high unit costs and high technical difficulty to support their size. In other words, they target upper-middle to large firms. If they don’t, the organization will not be able to sustain itself.

But if you depend on it, you cannot say what you want to say or do what you want to do.

People tell me that I am working in a difficult field. Perhaps they mean that it is difficult because the unit price is low and the soil for producing results has not yet been nurtured.

But I believe that is why there must be more people who do it, and above all, I want to help those who are struggling while working hard and devoting themselves to their daily tasks.

The White Paper on small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) reminds us that the number of people suffering each year is not decreasing. The same is true of the Small Business White Paper.

Marketing is done very differently depending on the size of the budget and manpower. The success stories and know-how that are widely talked about are examples of large companies that have the budget, time, and human resources to do so. It would be impossible for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) to implement them as they are.

I entered the Web world with gusto and guts, and went from the ordering side to the receiving side, but I cannot do the same thing now if you ask me to do the same thing.

At the time, I was barely making ends meet, working as a web developer, and spending every spare moment I had to sleep on a monitor (it was a CRT back then) for marketing our company.

It is impossible to force this on those who are busy in their current jobs, or rather, it should not be done.

Why online-centric services?

With that in mind, how can we lower costs without lowering quality, how can we pinpoint what to offer, how can we make everyone enjoy working on this project…? We have pursued these things, and here we are today.

In principle, minimize travel. Online chats, videoconferences, and reports are not a useless number-crunching thing; if they can be omitted, they are. We try not to do anything wasteful and aim for a mutually agreeable format.

Naturally, we do not have a large office, no additional employees, and no specific employee events. We keep it simple and use various outsourcing networks (we do not use crowdsourcing) from time to time to optimize costs.

Then, if we can afford it, we first try various tools and advertising menus ourselves so that we can recommend them to our customers. If it works, we offer it as know-how in our consultations. If it fails, below, the notes become know-how.

In this way, we are growing together with you every day.

There are things you can do even if you don’t have a budget

It is not that you cannot do anything without a budget there. That is the logic on the part of companies that only have a specific, fixed menu.

There is nothing more important to a company than its current assets. Nothing is more important than cash and deposits. As the president and representative of a small company myself, I know firsthand the importance of such assets.

Based on the budget available now, we should only do things that have a good return on investment.

Or we can do nothing now, but make a budget every month for six months or a year while we make our own input, and then ask for your help in a year when we are fully prepared.

That may not be anything in form, but it is a big step forward for the company.

brief personal record

Started own business while still in college

While in college, he discovered and became absorbed in computers and the Internet. While studying, he worked as a SOHO web designer and his father’s paper media design (DTP) business, and started his own business as a web designer.

Due to heart disease, he did not look for a job, but went independent. He started out with no local ties, no personal connections, and no client list, but instead carried the name of the company with him.

In addition to job requests through SOHO recruiting websites, he also works with private salespeople on a 50-50 profit sharing basis, and conducts sales visits on his own, while expanding into various business-related areas other than design in order to eat.

He was also involved in organization, team management, inbound sales, marketing, and systems, and worked at several web and marketing companies out of a sense of crisis that he could not provide value in the future unless he had a wider range of experience. In the end, he experienced all types of jobs except accounting work.

As a designer, he worked on the UI renewal of a major dealership, while at the same time designing the CMS and building the UI structure behind the scenes due to his curiosity about everything.

In the process, he started a blog in 2003 focusing on overseas web marketing information (Web Strategy Roundup), and through the blog, he went on to make connections with people inside companies.

Independent Unification and Incorporation

Greetings from the RepresentativeIn 2012, he left his last company to start his own business, and in 2014, he became a corporation from a sole proprietorship.

The company’s name “Roundup” is taken from the name of the blog I mentioned earlier that made the connection between people.

Currently, although we call ourselves a web consulting company, we are broadening our coverage to become a one-stop service.

Backed by an outsourcing network, we support 10-20 clients at any given time with website production and operation, search engine optimization (SEO), offline and online collaboration, advertising management, corporate training, and as an advisor to protect companies from dangerous information and sales.

As a corporation, it will soon be in its seventh term, and as a sole proprietorship, it will be in its 18th term, counting from 2002.

Father of two, one slightly larger chihuahua. Lives in Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture. My problem is poor eyesight.

For those who are troubled or in need of help

With the slogan of “Reducing to zero the number of small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) that cannot utilize the Web,” we launched a service specializing in small and medium-sized businesses (SMB).

Thankfully, we are able to attract and close customers without any sales. Of course, we also share our structure and know-how with you.

Wouldn’t you all like to be able to take advantage of the Web? Only a handful of companies are really making use of it yet. Motivation is necessary for success.

If you are reading this and it rings a bell, please take a look at the various pages of this site and listen to the videos and audio seminars.
